Prague Zoo in the Czech Republic is located near the city center, in a unique natural area on the banks of the Vltava River. Opened in 1931, it has become one of the best zoos in the world.
It is also one of the most visited destinations during tourism in the Czech Republic, coming right after Prague Castle. This remarkable zoo covers an area of 58 hectares and is home to nearly 4,600 animals.
The zoo also includes around 150 exhibitions and museums covering different themes, along with several diverse sections. One of the most popular areas is the Bororo Reserve, which children will especially enjoy.
Visitors can also enjoy a small train, an observation tower, and areas where rowing activities are available.
What makes Prague Zoo especially unique is the Elephant Valley, which is home to a large herd of Asian elephants.
